Reprostudio, a Harare based photography and video filming company, spread the Christmas spirit in the city’s streets last Tuesday by donating food hampers to the visually impaired.

Company directors Mr Chenjerai Sisimayi and Mrs Thenjiwe Sisimayi said their company has a bias towards women and children.

“On October 11 this year, we had a campaign for girls and women. That is when we decided to extend these gifts to women and children who stand at traffic lights begging to survive.

“It might be not much but we know they will take a day or two off the streets and enjoy good meals with their families,” Mr Sisimayi said.

Mrs Sisimayi added that after their October campaign, they have been channelling 20 cents from each dollar earned towards helping the less privileged.

“Our clients supported us very much and we are grateful that we have archived our goal, we pray that next year it will be much bigger and better,” Mrs Sisimayi said.

Mother-of-four Enthia Marinda who is a beneficiary could not hide her joy when she was handed the hamper.

“Thank you very much, I might not see your faces but I have seen your hearts which are full of love. My Christmas will be very different from all the previous ones as I will be home with my family. Do not consider this gift small, you will never know what it really means to me,” she said.

Ropafadzo Munodzanha, who begs from passersby at the intersection of Prince Edward Avenue and Josiah Tongogara Street in the capital nearly broke into tears as she was being handed her hamper.

“You have been sent by God. Just yesterday my son asked me what we were going to have on Christmas and I failed to answer him. I said in my heart God would provide and indeed He has provided.

“Do not do this for us only but to each and every needy person. I understand what they are going through, especially this time of the year,” she said.
