AFTER a four-year album drought and keeping fans guessing, Alick Macheso’s camp feels it is high time they pay back fans for their loyalty.

The Orchestra Mberikwazvo family cannot believe the love and support they got during the dry spell.

And to show their appreciation, the camp has decided to hold a “Thank You” midweek party at Private Lounge in Harare this Thursday.

This comes after Macheso sold over 100 000 copies on the first day of the release of “Tsoka Dzerwendo”, a rarity in an age where piracy chews into singers’ sales.

Dubbed “Tsoka Dzerwendo Victory Party”, or alternatively “Executive Sungura Night”, the show will only add to the great marketing that has steered the album’s release.

In an interview, Orchestra Mberikwazvo public relations manager Tich Makahamadze said, “The success of our 10th album has shown that fans have always had faith in Macheso, thus the decision to hold this midweek party.

“Following the demand of Macheso’s latest CD “Tsoka Dzerwendo”, the Harare Chapter has begged us to put in place a special show where Baba Sharo will mix and mingle with loyal fans.

“ After the delay in releasing the album, the fans, Harare Chapter included, have been waiting for the project and they also endorsed it. On this special day, we do anticipate a full house where a number of surprise acts will also provide cover.”

Added Makahamadze: “Fans will be free to express their views with our PR team and we do welcome their views. And being a mid week party, we urge people to show up early and catch every action at the event. In short, we urge fans to show up in numbers and have fun with their peers, being entertained by their favourite artiste.”

Macheso, who is no stranger to the venue, will also be signing autographs while a photo session is in store. Signed copies of “Tsoka Dzerwendo” will be sold at the event.
