SONGSTRESS Robyn Anesu Katahle Dawani, popularly known as Tahle We Dzinza, is set to drop a new single on Monday.

The love track titled “Give Me More”, features one of her mentors, Jah Prayzah.

Talking about the song, the Military Touch Movement (MTM) first lady said, “Give Me More’ is a love song which talks about the purity and beauty of genuine love, obviously with a Zimbabwean twist that people have grown to love.

“The video and ethnic sound was inspired by Jah and DJ Tamuka, who thought the Afro-pop genre would suit me,” added the vocalist. The video of the song was shot in Sandton South Africa, courtesy of MTM productions and it portrays the depth and strength of pure love.

Said Tahle: “The song mirrors the kind of love that anyone who has ever experienced it yearns for. And we are heading for Valentine’s Day so it is a timely song.”

Tahle became popular on the music scene when she was signed up as the only female artiste in MTM, a group led by Jah Prayzah. Although “Chekeche” was her eureka moment, her recording days date back to as far back as five years ago. The talented young artiste credits her mother/manager for the support she continuously gets.

Tahle has two relatively fresh singles “Love is a Friend” and “Hautendeseki”, which have been getting good rotation on radio.

“I think this is just the beginning – it is ‘Kutanga Kwaro’ for me. I am praying that with the Dzinza family support I can do the nation proud. I look at people like Dr (Oliver) Mtukudzi; if I could be a fraction of his size, I know I would have done my people proud,” added the songstress.

The budding artiste is hoping to work on many collaborations with local and international artistes.

“Locally I simply adore Dr Mtukudzi, for me he is definitely a legend. As for Winky D I’m more of a stalker than a fan [laughs]. When his music comes on I constantly find myself adding parts to the song creating my own rendition of the original. Takura is also one artiste who my girls and I just can’t help but scream our heads off when he starts singing.

“Regionally if I could work with Salif Keita, I would just be over the moon. Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi and Selebobo are all artistes that I wish to work with in the future.”

Tahle is in the same bracket of explosive budding female talents such as Tamy Moyo and Gemma Griffiths, who have potential to shake the world one day.
