THE Ngezi Platinum Stars fairytale continued at the Baobab yesterday as the miners side stormed into the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals.

Dynamos reject Kenneth Bulaji, top scorer James Nguluve, gangly centre back Liberty Chakoroma and Donald Teguru were on target for Tonderai Ndiraya’s men.

Tsholotsho got their face saver from the boot of McClive Phiri who could have ended the day had he not missed a penalty.

The home side were quick off the blocks and opened the floodgates on the 11th minute when Bulaji rounded off Tsholotsho keeper Nickel Marichi.

However, their celebrations were immediately cut short as the visitors restored parity three minutes later through Phiri who was allowed acres of space to pick up his spot from inside the box.

It was 2-1 to Ngezi nine minutes from the breather when the club’s leading scorer Nguluve tapped home a rebound after Chakoroma’s effort had crashed against the post.

Tsholotsho had a perfect opportunity to claw back into the game when referee Pedzisayi Chadya awarded them a penalty after Partson Jaure handled in the 70th minute.

However, Phiri’s kick was saved by Warriors trialist Nelson Chadya.

Chakoroma and Teguru then sealed the game with easy finishes.

Ndiraya disclosed that his team is now dreaming of the Promised Land.

“From the onset we said we want to take it step by step and reach the Promised Land, we have gone past another stage and we now look forward to our next opponent. The score line looks comfortable but there are some tactical and technical issues that need to be addressed.

“I would also want to see how we perform if we are to play away from home because at home we have been impressive,” said Ndiraya.

His opposite number Lizwe Sweswe lamented some midseason transfer business which robbed his team of some key man including skipper William Stima who is now at FC Platinum.

“We are rebuilding again, we lost about five players during the window, but losing is part of the game. We go back to the drawing board and focus on the league,” he said.
