Rastafarian Perspectives: Specie-ism is next to Barbarianism

We all know racism, tribalism, sexism and a host of other forms of irrational prejudice human beings devise against one another.

Currently speaking, xenophobia is wrecking havoc and causing mayhem just across the southern borders into Tshaka’s Zululand.

The primitive ugly primate has a brother, much uglier and even worse. If not properly governed, animals will continue dying and sinking into oblivion. With the exception of only a few extreme vegetarians and fruitarians, the rest of mankind kill and eat animals without a guilty conscience what so ever.

Nyabinghi Rastafarians do not eat eggs, animal milk, insects, and animals like us. Just to rectify the misconception, we do not eat fish.

The Prophet Isaiah says in that day Lions shall graze on grass. As children of the conquering lion of the tribe of Judah, we specialise in chewing grass. We experience grief when fellow mammals, birds, fish, amphibians and all are being hunted, killed, fried and eaten by seemingly sound humane-beings.

Specie-ism is a belief shared by less advanced members of society who believe themselves and certain members of their species to be God’s chosen and special creatures. Obviously this primitive way of thinking and living is dangerous to the planet and species.

The phrases “In harmony with nature” and “eco-friendly” become a fleeting illusion to be pursued but never attained.

There is nothing eco-friendly about roasting and toasting other species. God gave us the right of stewardship and by this we are supposed to tend to our brothers and sisters’ needs.

Opening more veterinarian services, identifying those in need and tenderly cater their needs against our wants. That is our main duty and responsibility. That is what God meant; at least the bulk must comply while a lost few fail to redeem themselves from savagery and sausage.

Consider this one, human beings were created in the Garden of Eden whose current geographical location is Ethiopia. When humans were created, Adam and Eve were vegetarians and they lived in total harmony with nature never killing and eating their neighbours and keen.

Just as it was in the beginning, and so shall it be in the end.

When they transgressed Jehovah’s law and command, that is when trouble began. For the first time, sin and death was introduced into the world. Our biological anatomy reveals and confesses the fact that we are vegans and fruitarians by creation.

Now that we easily maim and kill other species with ease, the same we do also to our own species, completing the chain.

From a historical point of view, meat eating amongst human beings began as cannibalism. Due to acute food shortage and hunger, our ancestors consumed raw human brain so as to fend off death.

Remember cooking is an invention only enjoyed by human beings now and not then. Again, if you do not cook this meat, no matter how greedy you are, you will never eat the dead or living animal.

At one time human sacrifices were part and parcel of Biblical men and women.

Abraham was instructed by God to kill and sacrifice his only son. How many more were sacrificed unrecorded? He was only pardoned from continuing with the atrocity at the last minute.

The teaching was not only on faith, but to prove unto mankind that sacrificial killing of humans was not logical and God was tired of it.

When Jesus was crucified, the event brought about the end to all senseless human, animal and filthy blood sacrifices human beings and partial believers pursue with glee even to this modern date and era.

Killing doves, pigeons and other innocent creatures in context in the name of cleansing our sins is just ridiculous.

Again the criterion which we apply in destroying these innocent souls is perverse. One society condemns the other for eating dogs as they are considered taboo and instead they stew goats. All animals are the same and they are equal.

Above vegetarianism s fruitarianism. Fruitarianism involves the consumption of only fruits given unto us by mother nature. If the pruning of leaves and eating them does not suit your needs, then eat only that which was designed to be eaten the fruit.

Actually, the provebial Adam and Eve were fruitarians rather than vegetarians or vegans.

Our unjustified preference of one specie over the other is driving some species into extinction. As we reserve minute islands for game and engulf the rest of the territory for personal and animal husbandry (banditry), the less fortunate consequently suffer the consequences.

For illustrative purposes, lets’ assume as we do reserve only ten percent of the total land area for all the other animals we discriminately selected as game (games and jokes) while animals to be included under the sub-title animal husbandry enjoy the remaining 90 percent.

Then of course nature has tipped off balance. The planet is in peril.

But if we are all to stop this senseless behavior we perpetuate automatically heaven will be established onEarth.

Consider wild children that have been nursed and nurtured by wild beasts; wolves, jackals, dogs, among others.

Mind you, in some cases these children would have been outcast and abandoned by their own biological parents.

It is obvious that heaven is somewhat hidden not so far from this planet and if we act accordingly, we will establish heaven here on earth. Instead we prefer to unleash hell unto other species and ourselves.

Stop cruelty to animals and say no to violence in all its various forms. Peace and love Rastafari.
