Prophetess Ruth, wife to Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, invited over 900 less privileged children from seven homes namely; Tanyaradzwa Children’s Home, Danai Children’s Home, Chiedza Child Care Centre, Kutenda Children’s Home, Redemption Child Care Centre, Harare Children’s Home and Chinyaradzo Children’s Home.

Over 100 selected widows and university students that she supports financially also joined in the celebrations which saw them being treated to hampers with various goodies.

Gospel musician Joyce Simeti and dance group Sesfikile provided entertainment.

Prophet Makandiwa’s spokesperson Pastor Prime Kufakunesu said the celebrations fulfilled the Prophetess’ passion of giving to the less privileged children.

“Prophetess Ruth has a passion for charity work and she always celebrates this day with the under privileged,” he said.

Last year, Prophetess Ruth celebrated her birthday at Harare Children’s Home where she donated groceries worth US$11 000 to orphans and widows.

In 2013, she also threw a party and donated clothes, stationery and goodies to at least 300 children from four orphanages.
