FC Platinum vented their anger of being robbed at the hands of Dynamos and controversial referee Ruzive Ruzive with an explosive performance that dismantled Triangle FC in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Mandava yesterday. The Lloyd Mutasa-coached side, who fell 0-1 to DeMbare in midweek, made known their intentions early and were already two up with just 16 minutes on the clock, thanks to well-taken goals by rejuvenated left back Qadr Amini and Simon Shoko.

Stephen Sibanda and Mitchelle Katsvairo then killed off the match as a contest with a goal apiece in the second stanza to assure FC Platinum of their third victory of the season.

The miners have now bagged  12  points, while Biggie Zuze’s men, falling to their fifth defeat, remained entangled in the relegation puzzle with eight points.

Amini opened the floodgates with his fourth of the season on the 13th minute with a blistering left footer that zoomed past Triangle goalkeeper Edmund Chimhini. The hosts continued piling the pressure with Allan Gahadzikwa and Mitchelle Katsvairo combining well before the latter teed up Shoko who was lurking inside the box.

Six minutes after the breather,  Sibanda, who arrived from Buffaloes in the off-season, beat a badly positioned  Chimhini in goals for Triangle with a swerving free kick awarded after a dangerous foul on midfield pivot Thabani Kamusoko by Charles Makoto, who was duly cautioned.

But the hosts were not done just as yet, with Katsvairo putting the icing on the cake in the 71st minute after capitalising on some slack marking by Triangle leftback Ronald Maketo.

Zuze was naturally disappointed after the match, but surprisingly blamed the defeat to lack of luck.

“Yes, it’s disappointing, especially considering the high hopes we had for this match. I am sure my boys are also disappointed with the result,” said the under-pressure coach.

Mutasa hailed his ‘‘youngsters’’.
