1610-2-1-NATTY GEE2Rising rapper Natty Gee, born Nyasha Goromonzi, has released his latest singles compilation which features one of the Nigerian rappers, Rhyme Deep (Edwin Nonso Agwunobi).

Their club bang song titled ‘‘Stagger Go Down’’ is already receiving fair airplay on local radio stations.

‘‘Stagger Go Down’’ was accompanied by three other singles namely ‘‘PaGuruve’’, ‘‘Wandipengesa’’, ‘‘Ndokwatiri’’. The singles feature other local rappers from Guruve.

‘‘PaGuruve’’ and ‘‘Ndokwatiri’’ features Fame Squad.

Natty Gee said that he approached Rhyme Deep through social networks.

“I started listening to Rhyme Deep last year and since then, I have been a huge fan of his music,” said the Guruve artiste.

“Growing up in a rural area like Guruve, it is difficult to keep abreast with musical activities. Therefore, I had to stick to social networks and internet marketing for my musical career. Due to my addiction to social networks, I was able to approach Rhyme for a compilation.

“Fortunately Rhyme was impressed by some of my works that I released early this year. ‘Kinda Life’ features Bouy Tace (Takudzwa Janga), Amai Vake features Maskiri (Alishias Musimbe) and TK Hollun (Takudzwa Kapondoro).”

He said working with the Nigerian was a great experience that broadened his vision as an artiste on how music can be diversified so that it competes internationally.

Natty Gee was born on September 15, 1988. He did his primary school between 1994 and 1997 at Kurai Primary School in Guruve before moving to Mvukwes Primary School in Harare.

The 26-year-old Guruve artiste did his secondary education at Prince Edward High School between 2001 and 2006.

So far, he has released three different compilations which are receiving fair airplay. His music is competing on the local hip-hop chats with other major players of the genre in the country.

What draws great interest to Natty Gee is the fact that hip-hop music has always been associated with artistes from the north and south of Samora Machel Avenue in Harare.

The top major players of the genre have always been The Few Kings namely Tehn Diamond (Tendai Nguni), Junior Brown (James Mpakula), Take Fizzo (Tatenda Jenami) and MMT better known as MC Cut (Kevin Sagomba), Mariachi (David Chitate) and Tate da MC (Tatenda Nziramasango).

However, the coming in of the Guruve rapper is bringing a breath of fresh air into the genre.
