AMBITIOUS Zimbabwe Republic Police Mambas Queens gaffer Talent Museka is living a dream after marking a colorful debut and claiming the top spot in the Netball Super League.

The title comes in his (Museka) maiden season after taking over the reins from Philimon Mangwiro mid last year.

And it is also the first time that the uniformed side has grabbed the title in the eight years.

It was a tough top-of-the-table clash at Baobab netball grounds, yesterday, but it would be the police side that would prevail 45-32.

“I am a satisfied man because, after all, it was a title race that we were in and so obviously when you get it you feel your efforts have paid out,” said Museka.

” It has been a tough journey, but we fought a good fight, ” he said.

The gaffer said hard work and discipline saw his charges emerge victors.

The 33-year old Harare Central Police Constable will be retaining his squad next season.

“For me, it is discipline that should come first.

“If a player has no discipline, then we do not have a team because discipline governs and informs one of how to behave.

“A disciplined player knows when to come for training and what they should do when they do come and as a coach you are there to mentor them,” he said.

Platinum Queens coach Rudo Kandare congratulated the police side and hailed her charges for finishing third.

“I’m happy with the performance my girls put up, despite the numerous challenges we encountered.

“At some point during the season we had to call it off for three months forcing us to go through intense training and crush program to catch up.

“Had we been consistent, I am very confident we could have been there at the top,” she said.

Ngezi Platinum Queens finished off the season third placed after ZRP Mambas Queens and Harare City Queens respectively.
