Rising gospel sensation Janet Manyowa’s star continues to rise in the local showbiz industry, since her magical voice was unveiled to the world in January this year.

The talented singer last week released her video to the smash hit single “Ndomira Pamuri” which was viewed by over 1000 people in less than a week on YouTube. The video was also submitted to national broadcaster ZBC TV last week and copies will also be going on sale.

Manyowa arrived with a bang on the Zimbabwean entertainment scene in January this year with her debut track “Amazing God” which features United States-based musician Comfort Manyame.

“Amazing God” received massive airplay on all local radio stations and recently topped the charts as number one on The Gospel Greats on Star FM as well as reaching top positions on other stations including Zi FM’s gospel charts.

Following the success of that track, Manyowa, who is currently working on her debut album due for release in a week or two – released “Ndomira Pamuri” which has gone on to break records on local gospel charts.

The current release is a declarative song in which she proclaims her trust in God and declares her unwavering faith despite life getting bleak or rosy.

“I am working on a debut 12-track album which I intend to release in a few weeks time and will feature the two singles, “Amazing God” and “Ndomira Pamuri”,” she said.

She added that in order to enhance her musical sacrifice of worship, she looks forward to pursuing studies for a musical degree. Manyowa is an accountant by profession, married to her manager, Munyaradzi Manyowa, and together they have two children.

Born Janet Rejoice Rudo Manyowa on the 18th of March 1985, Janet spent her childhood years in the small towns of Chegutu and Banket. Having discovered her inclination to making music, her parents sent her for music lessons at a tender age of 10.

Since then, she started singing in church and school until recently when she decided to live her dream of going on air and this has with no doubt proved to be a success in such a short space of time.

Manyowa has recently been part of major gospel events in the city like Pastor G and Zimpraise’s live DVD recordings. This is in addition to various invites to sing at church conferences and weddings. She regularly leads worship in Celebration Choir which she is a part of for the past six years.

Her husband-cum manager Munyaradzi praised Andy Carter, a Bulawayo-based production company which filmed the video of “Ndomira Pamuri”.

“Andy is quite a talented guy and the quality of the video just blew me away. I was not sure though until we posted the video online where it got over a thousand views in less than a week,” he said.

The lanky manager said soon after the release of the 12-track album, they would start working on a DVD album as well, which would have top quality videos.

About his musician wife, Munyaradzi said: “I am excited to be a part of her life and passion because it signifies how we are one pillar of support for each other and music is a passion for both of us.”

He said that working together with his wife was an awesome thing, although, once in a while they tend to focus more on music instead of their lives, which is something that can be, however, fixed with effort.

Munyaradzi said her fans could expect a number of diverse talents featuring on his wife’s music as it is also a very good way of promoting growth in an artiste.
