When the issue of condom usage pops up, some people often ask, “How can I enjoy a sweet wrapped in paper?”

What would you do if your partner came and unexpectedly asked you to start using condoms?

The most implosive reaction is to suspect that the partner who initiates the use of condoms is up to no good.

Imagine you have been married for many years without using the latex and then one day your partner arrives home from work and informs you he/she has brought some condoms and you must start using them!

Many will react indifferently, thinking that their partner has been infected either with HIV or a sexually transmitted disease.

There are many marriages that have irretrievably broken done over the use of condoms. Some are apprehensive when it comes to using condoms because they think they have a negative effect on sexual pleasure. This is why the “sweet wrapped in paper” phrase has been coined.

Many men and women out there think that using condoms will automatically kill both the desire and the pleasure. Such people argue that they will be making the nerve ends dysfunctional by wrapping it up with the condom.

The same argument is also made by some females against the use of the femidom.

There are some who will never agree to use a condom, not because they hate it but because they fear losing the sensation. They argue that ejaculation does not feel as great with the reduced sensitivity. They further argue that condoms bring a barrier between you and your partner and that physical attachment will be absent.

Most women actually take pleasure in knowing that their partner is “truly” inside them and when the man comes right inside there, they feel closer to him.

Sex without using condoms strengthens the bond between partners and raises confidence when it comes to sexual intercourse, they go on.

Does the use of a condom really take away the desire and pleasure?

Well, that is a question that can only be answered by those who have experienced both ends. But my experience has proven that there is really not much difference – condom or no condom.

While the condom can to some extent reduce the sensation, this is actually a blessing in disguise as it will ensure that the act lasts much longer.

Who among women wants a man who ejaculates so easily and within that little time? None.

Women love it when it lasts longer, but of course not too long for discomfort, so the use of a condom is much of an advantage in that regard.

Surely, I will never turn down sex from my partner because he has worn a condom. After all, reduced sensitivity is better than ending up struggling with an unwanted pregnancy, an HIV infection or some other sexually transmitted disease.

A recent research in the United States showed that condoms do not in any way diminish sexual pleasure.

The results of the research showed that men and women consistently rate sex as highly arousing and pleasurable whether or not condoms are used.

With the advent of HIV, it has become a reality that people must use condoms, especially in cases when you do not trust your partner.

The deadly virus has in some way instilled fear in many and has taken away the resistance to use condoms.

After all is said and done, condom use is a choice between partners and what is important is to agree on using them.

VAGINAL ODOUR: Change your Lifestyle

If it smells fishy, yeasty, or just foul even though you wash frequently – it’s not good. There are some foods you may want to lay off a little, and some that you should be having more of.

Change your lifestyle – change your vaginal odour.

For the most part, a smelly vagina is a result of medical conditions like bacterial vaginosis (the most common reason for a fishy smell) and thrush (a very common yeasty smell) as sometimes the slightest change to that perfectly balanced environment means big trouble.

Dr Bartlik was quoted in Glamour, saying: “Everything you eat has the potential to positively or negatively affect the way your bodily secretions, including sexual fluids, smell and taste.”

Our body digests everything we eat and drink. The foods and drinks make their way from our stomach to our blood flow. Through the blood it reaches our glands; sweat glands, the prostate and the glands in and around your vagina.

Here are 5 foods that you should try and AVOID, especially when you’re planning to have some fun between the sheets.

1. Too much sugar. A spike in blood sugar can cause yeast infections and build-up, which will cause bad odour. Yeast will eat the sugar and that’s how they’ll grow. This includes bread, pies and other products filled with yeast.

2. Caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, and artificial sweeteners can irritate your bladder, especially if you suffer from interstitial cystitis (IC).

3. Strong foods like garlic, onion, chilli, causes an increased amount of sweating in the body which makes the sweat around your private parts a lot smellier.

4. Red meat. The smell and taste of food molecules we ingest can be released through the secretions produced by these glands and tissues, resulting in a noticeable difference in our body fragrance and flavour. Eating red meat may also throw off your vagina’s pH levels.

5. Alcohol

Foods that you should have more of, to improve the smell and taste:

1. Fresh fruits: like citrus, pineapple, watermelon, strawberry – they have a fresh and zesty scent, which makes the vaginal odour milder and control the pH level of the vagina.

2. Yoghurt with live cultures or probiotic supplements may help prevent yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis — this will keep the yeasty and fishy smell away. Probiotics are live micro-organisms, often called “friendly bacteria,” that may help fight infections caused by “bad” bacteria and boost digestive health. They are sometimes added to yoghurts and available in supplements.

3. Drink lots of water. This will flush out most of the unwanted impurities.

4. It is believed that a mixture of almonds, milk and honey can make you taste sweet. – timeslive.co.za
