Madirirano to light up Easter Sunday

CONSIDERING all the activities taking place this Sunday – the day can only be described as a coat of many colours.

Being Easter Sunday, many people will attend church in the morning for a dosage of gospel accompanied by a sip of sacramental wine – “The Blood of Jesus Christ” they call it.

As the day progresses, however, with church services over, leisure seekers will head in different directions, to the various venues and events on offer.

Takashinga Cricket Club in Highfield will be the place to be as it plays host to yet another edition of Madirirano thiscoming Sunday. This is an event that should not be missed, especially by those who love outdoor, picnic type of events.

The last edition was a huge success, attracting hundreds of patrons. This one is set to be bigger. The lineup of artistes set to entertain the crowd now includes Seh Calaz, Garry Tight, DJ LRoy, Garry B, Templeman, Judgement Yard, DJ Mbale, Iroq, Selekta Base and TK Beatz to name a few.

While the event is held in the ghetto, it has been known to attract many uptown big shots thereby creating an atmosphere of unity between South and North of Samora. Socialites Pokello Nare and Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure are among some of the celebrities that will add a spicy flavour, rather sauce as some will say, to the event.

Speaking to The Sunday Mail, organiser Simba “Bodyslam” Chakare said the event was meant to bring people from all walks of life together.

“This is a gig that brings people from various backgrounds together as they drink and celebrate life in unison,” said Bodyslam.

“We will be having some of the most popular socialites, business moguls, ghetto youths and other interesting personalities coming through to party together on Sunday. This will be one massive party where people will not only be celebrating Easter but also life itself.”
