Yamurai Women’s Empowerment Group last week donated two wheelchairs to the Kembos.

The Harare-based organisation’s chairperson, Ms Mildred Muzuva, said they had been touched by the family’s plight.

Ms Muzuva said: “As a charity organisation, our mandate is assisting underprivileged women, who have either been widowed or abandoned by spouses, and the elderly with basics that can sustain them.

“We seek to educate orphans and other vulnerable children from poor backgrounds who have no access to education, food, clothing and medicine. We are, therefore, happy to have touched these lives.”

Mrs Ronica Kembo said: “I want to thank everyone who is helping us in our trying times. We appreciate any kind of help. We are grateful to Yamurai Women’s Empowerment Group for this noble act.”
