JP ropes in Patoranking, Alie Keyz

MULTI award-winning musician, Jah Prayzah, whose ninth studio album is set to be launched this Friday, has collaborated with trending African act, Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie aka Patoranking.

The Nigerian star features on “Follow Me” – one of the 12 tracks on Jah Prayzah’s forthcoming offering, “Chitubu”.

“My collaboration with Patoranking is in line with the vision I started pursuing a few years ago, that of pushing my brand outside Zimbabwe’s borders and audiences,” said Jah Prayzah.

“Follow Me is a fun song in which a guy is telling a girl to follow him if she wants to enjoy his money. The song was produced by South African based Zimbabwean musician, Almonte Mthombeni, better known in the music circles as Alie Keyz. He is also Cassper Nyovest’s keyboardist and music director.”

The “Mdhara Vachauya” singer said technology has made collaborations easier to pursue.

“We connected via social media. Many people have failed to harness the power of social media but I try my best to use it to my full advantage. I have always admired Patoranking’s work ethic and I have been following him on his various social media platforms for some time now.

“One day I sent him a message on Instagram and told him how much I liked his projects and wanted to collaborate with him and boom, he was more than willing to do so. I sent him the song files and in no time he had put his vocals and the song was done,” said Jah Prayzah.

As per tradition, the “Kutonga Kwaro” singer is planning to release a video for the song.

“We will be working with one of Zimbabwe’s top video music directors, Vusa Blaqs, as well as another South African director on the video for ‘Follow Me’, which will be shot in South Africa on October 28. If all goes well, the video should be ready by the night of the launch. I know it’s a tight call but I believe the directors can deliver,” he revealed.

Meanwhile, ticket sales for the launch, which are ranging from $15 to $100 per individual or $1000 a table, started last week.

“The ticket sales are going on very well and we are happy with the response so far.

“People can buy the tickets on the Click n Pay website via multiple electronic payment options.

“We will be disclosing more selling points for the tickets soon,” said Jah Prayzah’s manager, Keen Mushapaidze.
