Jaure snubs DeMbare for Ngezi Jaure

WARRIORS defender Partson Jaure has snubbed his boyhood club Dynamos for the cash rich Ngezi Platinum Stars, in a late and major midseason transfer window coup.

The 26-year-old former University of Pretoria defender signed a one-year deal with Castle Lager Premier Soccer League first-timers Ngezi late Friday, ending speculation linking him with a return to DeMbare.

It emerged that Ngezi had been secretly tracking Jaure and invited the defender to Mhondoro in June for a familiarisation tour of the Baobab facility and an appreciation of the working conditions.

Club chairman Jeremiah Gasiteni confirmed the capture of Jaure but dispelled the notion that the defender had chosen the Mhondoro-based side over the glitz and glamour of Dynamos because big bucks were waved in his face.

“Jaure is now a Ngezi Platinum Stars player, he signed a one-year deal with us. The figures involved in the deal are a secret but it is not all about money. Sometimes it is about the players’ job security and comfort, he came here sometime in June to see how we operate and he was impressed,” Gasiteni told The Sunday Mail Sport yesterday.

However, Jaure will not feature against Triangle at Gibbo this afternoon as he is still awaiting an international transfer certificate from AmaTuks.

Ngezi coach Tonderai Ndiraya believes the defender’s arrival will add more quality to his side.

“The boy has played at the highest level locally, he has played for the Warriors and was in South Africa so he brings in a wealth of experience. We will blend that experience with the young players we have, hopefully that blend will be enough for us to avoid relegation,” said Ndiraya.

Jaure spent two seasons at University of Pretoria before AmaTuks were relegated at the end of the 2015/2016 – a development that triggered a major overhaul at the club in preparation for life in Division One.

The former DeMbare star then fuelled speculation he was retracing his roots to the Glamour Boys – where he won three league titles – with a Facebook post on July 8.

“DeMbare is my Home,” Jaure posted, at a time when Dynamos had just lost skipper and centre back Augustine Mbara to newly promoted Absa Premiership side Highlands Park.

However, Ngezi Platinum Stars who are believed to be one of the best paying teams in the league swooped on Jaure who becomes the club’s fifth signing of the midseason window.

Former Dynamos players Walter Mukanga and Kelvin Bulaji, youthful goalie Chris Mverechena and former Gunners defender Byron Madzokere are also now at the Baobab.
