It’s not all gloom – Dube

HIGHLANDERS chairman Peter Dube believes the club’s poor run has blinded supporters to off the field success his executive is recording.
“Admittedly, I cannot stand before you and say the club is doing well,” said the Bosso boss. “We are not playing well and our position on the log is very disappointing, but it is not all gloom.
“There are issues like corporate governance issues and the revival of the junior policy, where we feel we are doing well and results will manifest in the not so distant future.  “If you ask anybody you want in Bulawayo how our juniors are progressing, they will tell you we probably have the most promising talent in the country.

“A vibrant junior policy is very dear to us as a club as the system of buying players every transfer window is not sustainable. “But obviously you can’t expect these boys to put on the jersey and start winning matches for the senior team today; it’s a process that requires patience.”

Dube maintains that despite calls for his executive to step down the Bosso members, the ones whose votes decide who leads the club,
still have confidence in him and his team. “We are operating in a difficult environment and the electorate knows that and most importantly appreciates the effort we have put in to make this club a success,” he said.
