WILLIAM STIMA kept his cool and converted a first half penalty to hand Tsholotsho their first Castle Lager Premier Soccer League win of the season.

For new boys Bulawayo City, who had defender Brighton Dube sent off on the stroke of halftime, the search for a maiden topflight league win continues after an opening day draw with How Mine.

Tsholotsho narrowly fell 1-2 away to FC Platinum on the opening day of the season and yesterday’s win must have come as a huge relief for coach Lizwe Sweswe.

After battling relegation last season, Sweswe has vowed that his team will not be dicing with death again this year.

“We learnt our lessons last season, nothing beats a good start to the season. Against FC Platinum we were unlucky to lose and my message to the boys after that game was aimed at making sure that they keep their heads up,” he said.

Bulawayo City coach Philani “Beefy” Ncube reckons his team was unlucky to lose.

Meanwhile, at Luveve How Mine new boy Pasca Manhanga continued with his fine form when he scored his second goal in two matches.

Manhanga, who was on target when Kelvin Kaindu’s men drew 2-all with Bulawayo City, opening the scoring in the 24th minute as the home side outplayed ZPC Kariba.

However, for all their dominance, How Mine had to wait until the 89th minute and it was ZPC Kariba old boy Tsepo Ranthokoane who did the damage.
