US based and Grammy nominated Acapella group, Committed will land in the country for a gospel music festival dubbed Ubuntu Music Festival set for Bulawayo on Saturday.
The five member group will join a host of local and international stars who include South Africa’s Afro-Jazz maestros Just 6 who won Best African Acapella and Best Religious Song for their 2014 album release, ‘Kuzolunga.’

Icing the cake will be Emmanuel Ministry Group also from South Africa, The Promise from Zambia, locally based Powerhouse and Behold Music Zimbabwe complete the lineup.

Behold Music Zimbabwe produces a fusion of distinct African spiritual sounds of Shona, Ndebele,Tonga and Swahili origin with contemporary Christian gospel music.

However it is the experience being brought by Committed an established Acapella group which has performed on grand stages that is expected to light up the festival.

Spokesperson for Behold Music Zimbabwe, Edmund Kucherera said, “Our aim is for this festival to be an annual event that will pit the best of local and world class performers in a bid to improve the standards in the country through collaboration.

“We also aim to exchange knowledge through seminars and workshops,” he said.
Committed was nominated for a Grammy Award for their rendition of, “Do you hear what I hear,” The group also won Season 2 of the United States Acapella show ‘The Sing Off.’

“The group has its roots in Gospel music, however they also have a wide repertoire which covers a span of genres, and musical tastes,” Kucherera added.
