DYNAMOS target Wisdom Mutasa has revealed that the desire to help his father keep his job pushed him into dumping ZPC Kariba. However, Lloyd Mutasa’s son will have to wait a bit longer before he makes his Dynamos debut as the former champions and his club Aces Youth Academy are yet to finalise the transaction.

Yesterday, AYSA director Nigel Munyati told The Sunday Mail that they would not rush into releasing the midfielder to Dynamos untill the Harare giants come up with a workable payment plan. “We have agreed terms with Dynamos but we will not rush to release the player before they present an acceptable payment plan.

“We are not saying the Brett issue will affect this deal, we just want a workable plan,” Munyati said.

Dynamos treasurer Webster Marechera said his club is trying its best to finalise the transfer.

“Economically things are tight but we are negotiating with them, the good thing is that the player himself wants to play for Dynamos,” he said.

While the drama unfolds, Mutasa spoke of why he chose to join the Glamour Boys.

“I felt sorry for dad when things weren’t going on smoothly for him just after he took over from Paolo Jorge Silva.

“We are one family, if he loses matches and is sacked then it means nzara yapinda mumba (the family will struggle financially).

“If given the chance to play for DeMbare, I will work hard so that the team continues with its fine run and my father keeps his job,” said Wisdom.

The senior Mutasa, who leads his team into battle against ZPC Kariba at Rufaro this afternoon, is also excited at the prospect of working with his son.

“It would be nice working with my son again,” he said.

Despite reports that Wisdom was increasingly growing disgruntled in Kariba, the powerful midfielder has no sour grapes with Sunday “Mhofu” Chidzambwa, the man who lured him to the resort town.

“He (Chidzambwa) is like a grandfather to me, I found it easy to work with him because he is a free man.

“But sometimes one has to make a move, in this case I feel like I need to play for DeMbare and fight in my father’s corner,” he said.

Wisdom sees some similarities in his father and the legendary Chidzambwa.

“They are both fair when it comes to team selection, the one who is playing better starts regardless of the player’s profile.”
