DYNAMOS’ two goal hero Simba Sithole expressed relief after breaking his nine month goal duck as his team thumped Highlanders in yesterday’s TM Pick n Pay Challenge Cup.

The former Warriors striker struck in the 22nd and 31st minute to give the Glamour Boys a two goal lead before setting up strike partner Rodrick Mutuma with an exquisite cut back in the second half.

Emotions justifiably got the better of him after scoring his first goal, since 24 November last season in a 2-0 win over Black Mambas, with a simple tap in that gave Ariel Sibanda no chance.

“I am very happy, believe me it’s very difficult for me to express the kind of joy and relief that I felt the moment I saw the referee signaling for a goal.

“I failed to control myself, I didn’t know what to do so I just ended up crying continuously. I was putting in a lot of effort in search of the goal but it just would not come but thank God and my teammates today I managed to get not one but two.

“It’s been a very long time since I scored and if you are a striker and you don’t score goals you can’t feel well.

“Obviously confidence plummets but I am lucky to have coach Pasuwa and the guys (teammates) who kept on encouraging me.

“Today I just told myself that as long as I am onside I will stay in the box fully confident that my teammates will play me and I will do my best to convert. Thank God it paid off,” he said.

Before making way for Washington Pakamisa in the 68th minute Sithole also set up Mutuma for DeMbare’s third.

“Creating goals is the second most important role of a striker and setting up Rody also makes me happy because at the end of it all the most important thing is team and not individual glory,” he said.

Despite his two goals and assist Sithole fell short of the $2 000 worth Man of the Match accolade which was scooped by midfielder Tafadzwa “Fire” Rusike.

Rusike’s put up a vintage performance on the left flank and gave Bosso right back Eric Mudzingwa a torrid afternoon.

“Everyone in the team worked hard for this win especially considering that it was against our bitter rivals Highlanders. I am also happy that I was voted Man of the Match. I will share the money with my teammates because football is a team effort,” said the midfielder in a post match interview.
