FORMER Warriors right-back Blessing “Bisto” Moyo has bounced back at Dynamos and joins attacking linkman Raphael Manuvire and centre-back Jimmy Tigere as DeMbare’s first signings of 2018.
The Sunday Mail Sport can also reveal that DeMbare have brought on board former FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum utility player James Marufu.
Manuvire joins DeMbare from ZPC Kariba while Tigere moves from relegated Harare City.
However, it is the return of 22-year-old Moyo that will excite the Dynamos faithful as the Mufakose-bred player starred for DeMbare when the Glamour Boys won their last league title in 2014 under Kallisto Pasuwa.
Moyo left Dynamos for Harare City in January 2016, before crossing the border to join ABSA Premiership side Maritzburg six months later.
Bisto parted ways with Maritzburg by mutual consent in August 2017 and has for a while been training with Dynamos at Motor Action Sports Club in Harare.
Although Dynamos secretary Webster Marechera was coy about the latest developments, The Sunday Mail Sport has it on good authority that the quartet of Moyo, Manuvire, Marufu and Tigere put pen to paper last Friday.
“We are yet to finalise but negotiations are going on. Some of the players we are talking to are still contracted to other clubs so we have to exercise caution. I think by Tuesday we will have concluded the negotiations,” Marechera said yesterday.
Dynamos are yet to finalise terms with William Manondo, who still has a year left on his Harare City contract.
An offer has been made to Harare City, who could also loan Edwin Madhanaga to the former champions.
“Pertaining to the talks that have been going on I can confirm that (Manuvire), Jimmy Tigere, James Marufu and Bisto have signed contracts. Manondo is not yet a Dynamos player, there are issues to do with his contract with Harare City,” said a source. As of yesterday, the contract details had not yet been ascertained. Marufu has been earmarked to replace defensive linkman Tichaona Chipunza, who is expected to return to Triangle or join Ngezi Platinum.
Chipunza was DeMbare’s most consistent player last season, and the free agent has told Dynamos they should fork out US$8 000 per year as signing on fees if they want to hold onto him. He has also said he will only wear the blue of Dynamos again next season if the club settles outstanding signing on fees due from the time he joined them from Triangle.
DeMbare want to offload Carlos Rusere, King Nasama and Musa Madhiri; while Valentine Ndaba’s future remains uncertain.
There is talk of a Ndaba reunion with former mentor Luke Masomere, who is now in charge of cash-rich Division One side Manica Diamonds.
