HARARE CITY are already planning for next season and are keenly awaiting the conclusion of a 2017/18 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign that they will remember for the remarkable number of games they have drawn.

While glory still beckons in the Chibuku Super Cup, yesterday they chalked up their 15th draw of the season.

City forward William Manondo heeded coach Mark Harrison’s plea to take his cup scoring form to the league with a 70th minute header, but hosts Black Rhinos equalised in the 89th minute through captain Bruce Homora’s headed effort.

Harrison cut a frusrtated figure after the match.

“We didn’t deserve to win the game; but at the end of the day, when you get to that point where you should win but don’t it is highly disappointing.

“Today we didn’t play, we didn’t deserve to win the game. I am upset because we didn’t play well. I am upset that when you do get a goal and you’re one nil upfront with one minute to go you should defend that goal,” he said.

City are seventh (42 points) with five games remaining, and Harrison is looking to next season.

“We are already planning, we are already looking into next season wherever we end this season it has been a result of where we have come from.

“The next season we have to improve on our situation, we have to build slowly and surely we have to create a side that can challenge ,it won’t be next season, maybe in two seasons, but we already planning.

Herbert Maruwa’s Black Rhinos are a point behind Harare City eightth on the table.

“We managed to control the first half and then the second half they came strongly and got a goal. After making some substitutions we got an equaliser,” the Rhinos coach said.

Black Rhinos started the match with diminutive forwards Lot Chiunga and Edgar Chigiji a constant threat to a Harare City side that struggled to play their preferred passing game.
