PAKARE Paye in Norton was a hive activity Thursday afternoon as the cream de la cream of Zimbabwean entertainment was treated to a luncheon ahead of Saturday’s celebrity soccer clash at Gwanzura Stadium.
Hosted by superstar Oliver Mtukudzi’s wife, Daisy, courtesy of Chipaz Promotions, which was supported by several other sponsors, the luncheon was testament to the solidarity and unity among artistes from various genres. Some of the celebrities present at the event included Soul Jah Love, Kapfupi, Peter Moyo, Bev, Zoey, Oliver Mtukudzi, Jah Prayzah, Sulumani Chimbetu and Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, to name just a few.
The artistes were in celebratory mood with threats of humiliation on the field of play being thrown around. Soul Jah Love warned his sungura counterparts saying the Zim dancehall team was going to send sungura to the rural areas on Saturday. Zoey and Bev, who are among the medics were elated, pointing out that they were looking forward to treating injured players on the field of play.
The soccer extravaganza will see journalists from the print media playing against those from the electronic side while Caps United plays against Ngezi Platinum FC. The main game of the day will feature Zim dancehall artistes who will be battling it out with sungura artistes. After the football matches there is going to be a music fiesta.
