Renowned gospel musician Joyce Simeti has died.
Simeti (42) was pronounced dead at Harare’s Arcadia Medical Centre this afternoon as she sought treatment for chest pains.
Her husband, Mr Stanley Simeti, told The Sunday Mail Online, “It’s true, she is no more. She had been unwell, and we took her to Arcadia Medical Centre where she, unfortunately, passed on.”
Simeti’s music career began in 2002, and she rose to fame with her hit “Kudza Baba naMai” in 2005. By the time of her death, she had seven albums to her credit. Simeti is survived by her husband and three children.
Mourners are gathered at Number 27 Ambleside Road, Braeside, Harare, and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
