Harare Volleyball League leaders Black Rhinos will be out to cement their position when they meet a star-studded Support Unit at the University of Zimbabwe grounds today. The army side’s coach, Elia Munosunama, conceded that his team will have to be at their best if they are to dismiss the police outfit.

“We expect a very tough match against Support Unit. They are a very good team and we need to be at our best against them,” he said.

Rhinos, who lead the standings with 21 points, play a quick attacking game with veterans Charles “Suke Chile” Dotito and Kulu Naba their main men.

Other players who have the capacity to swing the pendulum in the log leaders’ favour are setter Last Mapfumo, Tuli “Baluba” Moyo and Collins “Leko” Mafanise.

In the other camp, Support Unit stand-in coach Donald Chademana is optimistic of victory.
“My players are prepared both physically and psychologically for the game on Sunday (today).

“We hope to play our best volleyball to dent their confidence as the league heads for a climax. We have all our players fit for the match except for Elvis Manhangawo who was injured at training.

“We know what victory over Black Rhinos will mean to us and we want to capitalise on the chances that will come our way. It will be a difficult game but we are confident of winning it,” he said.

“Slowing down Rhinos’ attack is one way of derailing the army side,” noted Chademana.
Support Unit lost the reverse fixture 0-3 but victory today will see them strengthening their claim for league honours in what appears to be a three-horse race between themselves, Rhinos and Stanbic Thunder.
