The politicians, I mean some politicians, are going to think that this Bishop has gone ai???gamatoxai??? but no, at my church there are no factions. We do not do politics, we leave politics to politicians.
In fact, we find this ai???gamatoxai??? and ai???weevilsai??? labelling as too toxic and divisive. Surely our politics could do much better because we have some of the sharp brains in the continent.
In any case for us Christians, the Holy Book guides us to support the leadership that is in power. My good brother, Prophet Magaya, recently told the Daily News this plain truth and left the editors in a very compromised position.
So yes, l am not a ai???gamatoxai??? or a ai???weevil.ai??? I am what I am because the Book of Life is my book of instruction.
But why I am rushing without anyone asking, to explain my position? They say ai???the guilty shall be afraid,ai??? so some may be tempted to think this poor Bishop has been frightened into explaining his political affiliation. No, no, no. The Bishop is so much at ease.
You see, I think former Vice-President Joice Teurairopa Mujuru, is not a bad person. This away from politics.
I actually would welcome Joice at my church and she will be a valuable addition. For some reason I still have this picture of a Joice Mujuru in her Salvation Army uniform and a Joice Mujuru who spoke passionately about the family, womenai??i??s issues and a Joice Mujuru who defied odds to advance her education since the attainment of independence.
Maybe I am a Bishop living in the past and as an old school Bishop maybe let me plead guilty in advance.
But yes, as a human being I insist Joice Mujuru is not exactly a bad person.
But then, this past week Joice did something that left this Bishop a disappointed man. In fact, I could not believe my eyes this past week.
ai???Mugabe used me for years ai??i??Mujuru,ai??? screamed the headline in the Zimbabwe Independent. At first, I was like ai???there goesai??? the mischievous messenger. This kind of messenger feeds on a diet of fabrication, fiction and in worrying dosages outright lies.
So I saw the headline and dismissed it at first using my usual experience. But then the curious Bishop in me kept urging me to check the story.
I resisted for a while but the curious Bishop overwhelmed me and I found myself reading the full story.
There was Joice hammering 6-inch nails into her political coffin.
I really felt sorry and couldnai??i??t believe Joice was doing this to herself. ai???We and others were used as their ladder to the top and now we have been discarded like scrubs.
ai???But I donai??i??t feel hurt by the persistent attacks directed at me by both President Mugabe and his wife because the person they are describing is not me. Actually, I feel embarrassed on their behalf because that is not the way I was brought up . . . I have no hard feelings about what they did to be at the top . . .ai??? ranted and raved Joice, the suddenly clever one from Dotito.
Why Joice why? Why do this to yourself? Who is fooling you? Why are you beginning to confirm so many things that have been a myth about you?
You see, since her downfall started, Joice has managed to draw some measure of sympathy through speaking only when itai??i??s necessary. Donai??i??t get me wrong here. I am not referring to those long and winding newspaper adverts where she dismally failed to defend her position.
No.
Those adverts that were clearly drafted by some daft white spy from the American embassy who has no clue how Zanu-PF operates did considerable damage to Joice. I am sure she knows this by now.
I am talking about the ai???no commentai??? and the staying away from the media ai??i?? that really helped the former VP.
But then Joice spoke and she spoke badly.
Surely Joice thinks she can take President Mugabe head on with her accusations that she was used? Really?
Joice is trespassing into dangerous territory and she will be savaged with no mercy.
Joice should stop being a crybaby and accept the plain and painful truth that she was out-manoeuvred.
Thatai??i??s politics.
The earlier she accepts this the better for herself.
In fact, this Bishop thinks Joice was given a rare opportunity and she squandered it.
Can you imagine Joice was plucked from down the ladder and thrown onto the top table?
Now she has the temerity to open her mouth and accuse President Mugabe of using her. Come on, Joice.
This poor Bishop thought you are way above such petty and self-defeating politics. Who is fooling Joice? Please leave Joice alone.
Why make her bad situation worse? The statement she made was ill-advised and unfortunate. Instead of assisting her cause, that statement has exposed Joice. Just that statement was enough to prove that Joice didnai??i??t learn a thing about Zanu-PF and President Mugabe for all the years she claimed to be a party cadre. Itai??i??s really unfortunate.
Joice claims that she and the others (we really wonder who are these others) were discarded like scrubs. No, dear Joice, you havenai??i??t been discarded at all. Take what has happened as a learning political curve. Clearly the way the former VP was outsmarted shows that she still has a lot to learn in politics. Instead of starting to hallucinate about being used by President Mugabe and sulking like an amateur politician, Joice should take a retreat and give herself time to understand politics.
Some of us actually thought that is what she was and is doing especially after seeing those lovely pictures where she seemed to be doing well on her farm.
This is the Bishopai??i??s advice to dear Joice ai??i?? stop being used. Stop seeing shadows.
