“People with passion make things happen because passion overlooks resources. In fact, passion is your first capital in business or in a successful career.’’
HEARTFELT International Ministry (HIM)’s founder and president, Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe held a two day business summit with young entrepreneurs in Ashdown Park a fortnight ago.
The business summit was dubbed “People, Purpose and Passion” and was held at HIM’s International Overflow Centre which was filled with young people from different fields, that is, politicians, authors, engineers, accountants, journalists and information technology experts, among others.
The summit aimed at assisting young Christians in discovering their passion and pursuing them for monetary benefits.
Apostle Vutabwashe spoke on the essence of passion.
He encouraged the youths to form partnerships with other people in their quest to discover their purpose in life.
He said partnerships can broaden ideas and lead to growth. In some cases, people may have great business ideas but lack the capital. Therefore, partners can chip in with financial help.
“Passion is a strong powerful feeling for something. It is an extreme interest or desire for something or an intense affection for something,” he said as he made his way to the podium.
“It is hard to defeat anyone who does not give up. Any moment you are giving up on your passion, you are supporting your enemy. Your desire for something strengthens your prayer. Therefore you cannot have a strong prayer without a desire. Even in the book of Romans 10: 1, the prayer of the Israelites was driven by the desire for the nation to be saved,” he said.
“People with passion make things happen because passion overlooks resources. In fact, passion is your first capital in business or in a successful career. This means if you have physical resources without passion, you are merely wasting time and resources.”
He said many young people fail to discover their purpose and end up investing their time and resources in the wrong areas.
“Even Jesus Christ’s passion led him to his purpose. Christ’s passion was to save the world and His purpose was to bring salvation to people, the same principle can be applied.
“If you read Hebrews 12 v 2 it says, ‘Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne,’ (KJV). This means a passion goes beyond the pain and gets the owner. Thus if you are passionate about your dream or business idea, there should not be any circumstance to discourage you. Follow you passion and get honour,” said Apostle Vutabwashe.
The young people were discouraged from pursuing too many things at the same time as that could result in losing focus.
“You cannot pursue several things at the same time, it is impossible to have too many colours and make significant progress. Being passionate about several things means one might end up giving divided intention to all the things. There will be no honour and success in that,” he added.
