I STARTED working closely with Apostle Chiriseri in the mid-nineties when he was a pastor in Faith Ministries. What attracted me to him was his passion for soul winning and raising champions for Jesus. He had such a passion which was contagious. Later on, he was to become our next senior pastor whose role was to mentor the next generation of leaders to take over leadership in our ministry.

I was one of those people he had to walk with closely and I enjoyed working alongside him and under his ministry.

Eventually, I took over as the senior pastor of Faith Ministries, a position I still hold.

He later on moved to found His Presence Ministries International together with his wife. Apostle Chiriseri was one person who dearly loved his wife and children and showed it in the way they worked together.

He was so affable to those he ministered to and with that you would find yourself following through his teachings and ministry without much persuasion.

His desire to raise champions resulted in many young and old people finding their purpose in God whilst at the same time he became an apostle sent by God to the nations.

He has left behind champions who will take the gospel of Jesus Christ forward and to me, that is his legacy.

CO-FOUNDER of His Presence Ministries International, Pastor Petunia Chiriseri, who was reported to be in a critical condition at Mater Dei Hospital after being involved in a road accident that killed her husband Apostle Charles Chiriseri, is now out of danger. Apostle Chiriseri died on the spot last Thursday around 10pm while his wife Pastor Petunia lost consciousness on her way to the hospital after being involved in an accident that took place approximately 44km from Bulawayo in Mbembesi.

It is understood that he will be buried in Bulawayo.

However by the time of going to print, The Sunday Mail Religion could not establish when Apostle Chiriseri will be buried. The process is on hold pending the recovery of his wife. In a statement, the family and church said, “Although still hospitalised, Snr Pastor Petunia is making steady and strong progress.

“The Chiriseri family would like to announce that the celebration of the life of the late Apostle Charles Chiriseri, founder and senior pastor of His Presence Ministries International church, will be held on Saturday 22 October 2016, in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe.

The date was set with the senior pastor P Chiriseri in mind, whom we would want to be part of the celebration.” Pastor Petunia is a member of the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission and was sworn in on July 7 this year.

Meanwhile, members of HPMI last Sunday got together for an emotional morning service at the Harare City assembly in remembrance of Apostle Chiriseri. Verses of encouragement which included Phillipians 4:6, 3:14, 1 Timothy 12, Ecclesiastes 33: 14 and Psalm 121:4, among many others, were quoted to encourage the grief stricken congregants.

HPMI was founded on Exodus 33:14 which states that, “The Lord replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Speakers vowed that the church will go on despite Apostle Chiriseri’s passing on.
