A TALE OF TWO COACHES: Only a win will do, says Mutasa Lloyd Mutasa

Lloyd Mutasa Dynamos Coach
DYNAMOS need only one result in the Harare Derby – a victory and nothing less. If we get another result, I don’t know how I will handle it because I feel the time for a breakthrough has come.

We said it in Kariba and we got a draw against ZPC Kariba and we also talked about a breakthrough last Sunday and we got an improved performance against Yadah Stars.

We have been talking about the Harare Derby throughout the week and the need for a transformation after going for six games without tasting victory. There’s always a time for breakthrough and there’s no better way to find that breakthrough than winning a derby match.

I have faith and belief in my youngsters, once they get their groove they can beat any team in the league, Caps United included.

We have done all that is supposed to be done in the build up to a derby.

We have seen what these players can offer and come Sunday (today) we will just throw them into the fray and see how they fare.

To most pundits, Dynamos are out of the equation.

They have already ruled us out of contention.

Some are mocking us because of our present situation but what I know, given the players and technical staff that I have around me, is that once we start winning we will be unstoppable.

We have a better foundation than last year and nothing has changed from our target of doing better than last season when we finished second.

Doing better than last year means surpassing 70 points and then see where those points will leave us on the final log standings.

But we have to start winning!

We are going to go for three points against Caps United and for us to achieve that we have to be in an attacking mode.

Scoring has been our weakness, so probably we need to get into scoring positions more often and in numbers.

Every game has its own tactics and we are very flexible in terms of these formations so I am sure we will apply a formation that will get us into the box in numbers.

But it won’t be easy, especially playing against our arch rivals Caps United who are also geared up for this duel given the high stakes.

Caps United are in a better situation than us. You would want to believe that Dynamos needs this one badly.

Dynamos are a big institution, I have always said, they don’t deserve to be in the position that you find us at the moment, not at all.

It’s a difficult period that we are in but I would like to believe that this is only a rough patch that every club goes through in this 34-match race.

Given the situation that we find ourselves in as Dynamos, many would think as the coach I should be contemplating to quit.

A big no!

Not for now, not at Dynamos because I think I have been under worse circumstances at this club than the present settings. I am one person who looks into the long term and I know the turnaround is just around the corner.

The good thing is I have the support from my players at the training ground and my family at home.

My family knows I am a football man through and through, that’s my life and that is why they inspire me when things are down.

My boys, Wisdom and Panashe are always there, comforting me when the going gets tough because they know things will change one day.

When you are down, the next thing you expect is getting up.

I believe any day we can turn the corner!
