DIVINE Appointments: ‘Let’s go before God with our children’ Mrs Togara

Mrs Togara

She is an intercessor and fellowships with Celebration Church International, Zengeza assembly.

She is also a house wife and mother of six daughters. Last November, Mrs Tsitsi Togara of Chitungwiza wrote: “I am in intercession and the Holy Spirit has been talking to me about praying for children as a nation and He was saying, ‘Women of Zimbabwe, young and old pray for your wombs, pray for those unborn babies, pray for teenagers, pray for all children according to Jeremiah 9:20-21.’ Our children are dying because of drugs, prostitution, even the teachers are afraid of them. Vana vaoma moyo (They have hardened their hearts).” Tendai Manzvanzvike (TM) spoke with Mrs Togara (TT) to understand the importance of this revelation and call to prayer.

TM: As I read your message, I had a feeling that it was speaking directly to this generation and how it must heed God’s call. Tell us more about the message and what has been done since November.

TT: I was fasting and praying for something else. My spirit was troubled and I had a vision where I heard the voice of the Lord saying to me, “Hwindi mwana waani?” (Who is the mother of a tout?) And, in my spirit I responded that he is my child.

The voice said again, “Who is the mother of a commuter bus driver and all these young people taking illicit drugs like the cough mixture Broncleer?” And I answered, “They are my children.”

God then instructed me: “I now want all women to come to me.” I protested and said, “Why me Lord, for I am just a congregant? There are powerful women out there, who will speak and people will heed them.”

I left it at that and started praying for something else, and the message was back. The Lord told me that the church was not united. When He releases a message, it is dealt with at denominational level and it ends there. God asked: “Why? Am I divided?” And I said, “No, you are the same God.” Then He asked why we are doing our own thing.

TM: When you got the message what did you do?

TT: I asked, “Lord, whom shall I give this message?” You were one of the people I wrote to, but I told many. It’s being talked about, but they don’t want to get to a stage where they agree to cancel their differences so that they take the nation before God in unity. There is self-centredness and people are too denominationally minded. If you are not known in church circles, the message is normally ignored.

So, when you finally contacted me, I still asked whether it was the right channel because God had said that I should not shoulder the burden. We have mothers in churches and outside and He had said if we do not pray for our children bigger problems were coming – like a whirlwind. He also said that these very children will break our hearts.

As things developed, there were media reports of “sex marathon” rings. God said if a girl or boy enters these “sex marathon” rings, will they become respectable wives and husbands or mothers and fathers? I said, “No, they are finished!”

Then there were “nude parties”. I have daughters and I asked myself, if these things were to happen to them, how would I feel? It’s good that we say that we should teach and discipline our children, but, why not give them back to God because they are gifts from Him, and we tell Him: “Thank you for the gift, but I am returning it because I can’t open. I can’t handle it.”

According to the Mosaic Law, a troublesome child was taken to the elders. And if the allegations were proved correct, they would stone him/her to death.

But now, God is saying, “Cover your children with prayers and He will take charge of them.”

TM: With all this going on, were you convinced that it was God speaking with you?

TT: In order for me to not doubt that it was God, I had a vision of a woman with her hands raised in a clasped position. And, I asked what it was, and the Lord said this was the womb, the empty space and you are surrendering your womb to me. God was saying, “It’s a national thing.”

I never said I wanted to be an intercessor because I know that it is painful. Look at Moses or Jeremiah. You want to speak, but your audience does not want to listen. If you mention a church, people are not interested, because they come from another church.

TM: Are your children also like this?

TT: One of my daughters doing her ‘O’ Levels is very opinionated. I told her to become a child president so that she can fight for the rights of parents, because our children want everything, leaving parents with nowhere to stand. Thus the Lord is calling on us women to stand up – that Deborah anointing. To just arise and pray for our wombs before the Lord, and see whether He will not hear us. Nothing is impossible with Him.

TM: He won’t fail you?

TT: This is why He says test me because the devil is destroying our seed while as Christian mothers we remain silent. When we read Joel 2: 1-2, 15-18, we see that God is faithful. We should also teach our children to wail. As women, we can do it because God is saying we should arise once more and wail for our children.

TM: Wailing for living people?

TT: Yes, because they are already “dead”. When they get into “sex marathon” rings aren’t they dead already? The same with those taking drugs! They are dead. It’s as if you are childless.

TM: Final remarks.

TT: We stand up and declare that our children are covered. The grace of God abounds over them. But, until now, this message has not given me peace. Now I feel relived. Maybe you will remain burdened but we will intercede for you and our children.
