Through life experiences and lessons I have come to know that for every decision you make there is a reward or a consequence. It is with such a crucial background that I will share with you a wisdom message shared by Ghana’s Dr Mensa Otabil on his visit to Zimbabwe for the Council of African Apostles two weeks ago.

Dr Otabil is the founder of International Central Gospel Church, headquartered in Accra. He is the founder and chancellor of Central University College in the west-African nation. Continue reading.

Wisdom is principal. To do everything God wants us to do especially for our continent Africa we have to build in wisdom. Run with me to Proverbs 14 v 15-16.

A wise person considers well his steps, people that are wise are very deliberate, very intentional, and very purposeful about what they do. They have a reason for every thought and every action. And they can explain why they do what they do. The Bible calls the fool simple and lazy. The word simple means naïve, childish and inexperienced. The foolish person sees things only on the surface and can’t tell what lies behind the surface.

Psalms 14v1 says that the fool has said in his heart there is no God. I always thought this scripture said a fool doesn’t believe in God. But it says a fool has said in his heart there is no God.

It means he is trying to convince himself that there is no God. So the fool is definitely the person who knows truth but in denial of the truth. To see a nation make a mistake and you think you can make the same choices that nation made and not suffer consequences is not wise.

Jesus in Matthew 7v 24-27 talks about the wise builder and foolish builder. The wise builds on a rock, digs deep, builds enduring foundations while the foolish builds on the surface, doesn’t dig deep and settles on shifting grounds. The foolish builds for short term success, the wise builds for long term.

If we are going to build Africa we can’t build as fools. We can’t continue to make the same mistakes and hope that somehow we will get different results. In Proverbs 8 v22-30 wisdom is talking about herself.Wisdom says he or she is God’s master craftsman (v30). So when God purposes you to be rich you are going to need wisdom to be rich. You can be the person with the greatest prophecy upon your life and live without the prophecy becoming a reality.

Prophecy is great but without wisdom your prophecy is hollow.

When we pray for Africa we have to pray for wisdom. What is lacking isn’t resources. We pray more than any continent on the planet, prayer meetings of Africa are full, we speak more tongues in Africa than any other continent, power praise, the most anointed men and women of God live in this continent. We have every ingredient for success so what is missing is not resources; it’s not anointing; its wisdom. Until next week, keep living a victorious life in Jesus Christ
