DEE Nosh, real name Kudzai Matondo, has been making moves in the entertainment scene for over a decade and is among some of the most celebrated DJs in Zimbabwe. Having played at just about all major clubs over the past ten years, he decided to form an entertainment company and partnered with Tari Mapfumo to form 2 Kings Entertainment, which came into existence in 2015.

The company started by promoting local artistes like Jah Prayzah, Winky D and others at Kadoma Odyssey. From doing road trips with Jah Prayzah to playing a part in the Fill-Up the HICC gig, their stock as a promotional entity has been rising.

In a bid to gain more experience in the industry, 2 Kings Entertainment partnered top promoters to bring international acts to Zimbabwe.

These included Casper Nyovest, Luciano and Chris Martin.

Now the firm has come of age and will be hosting its first solo international gig on August 27 at Belgravia Sports Club in Harare.

Two top South African acts, K.O and Mafikizolo, will headline what should be an explosive affair.

2 Kings Entertainment has a strong belief in local music and have also put together a strong cast of supporting acts such as Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Junior Brown, Judgment Yard and DJ Stavo among others.

Dee Nosh says they are going all out to make sure their first major solo gig is a success.

“We have worked with other promoters in the past just to learn the ropes and I am sure we will pull this off,” says Dee Nosh.

“Our company is still new but I have been doing this for a while and I believe I have brought in more South African acts than anyone in the country. As a DJ in collaboration with various clubs I have brought more than 17 South African artistes who include DJ Cindo, DJ Cleo, Oskido, Liquid Deep, Mi Casa, Big Nuz and DJ Clock among others.”

He said the August 27 gig was the beginning of big things they had lined up for the rest of 2016.

“This show is an announcement that we have arrived as 2 Kings, but music fans should brace for more surprises this year.

‘‘We have already confirmed three big Jamaican acts who are coming before the end of the year so we intend to keep music lovers entertained with the best there is out there.”

2 Kings Entertainment is hosting another gig on the same date, dubbed “Summer Fiesta 2016” at Rainbow Towers Gardens in Harare, featuring top Zim dancehall acts like Winky D, Guspy Warrior, Killa T, Seh Calaz, Kinnah, Dobba Don and Ricky Fire among several others.
